La Bourbansais Zoo

After the marine world, it’s a zoo we’re proposing. A short distance from the Saint-Malo campsite (25 min by car), you’ll find the Bourbansais zoo in Pleugueneuc, an ideal place for a family day out.

This zoo is home to a wide variety of animals, from tigers to monkeys and giraffes. Bonus? This zoo is set in the grounds of a magnificent château. Imagine a show of birds of prey against the backdrop of a perfectly preserved 16th-century building. The perfect activity for your Saint Malo vacation, wouldn’t you say?

Continuing with magical encounters, you don’t spend your vacations in Brittany for nothing. The wolf is another fascinating animal! He’s waiting for you in Combourg (a small town full of character that’s a must-see for its castle and magnificent lake, by the way:).

Too often presented as the “big bad wolf”, come and meet this wild animal. From mid-July onwards, 1 hour of tales and stories are told outdoors in the presence of 2 semi-wild wolves.

Learn more about these emblematic animals, their behavior, their role in the ecosystem and the efforts being made to protect them. Your kids will be thrilled!

During your vacation in Saint Malo, don’t miss the chance to discover the famous sheep of Mont Saint-Michel. These sheep live on the salt meadows surrounding the mount, helping to preserve its unique ecosystem.

If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the salt meadow sheep in the bay.

Horseback riding

In the Bay of Mont Saint Michel or near Lancieux, horseback riding is an idyllic way to explore the magnificent landscapes of the Emerald Coast.

Numerous equestrian centers offer rides for all levels, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider.

It’s a great opportunity to create new memories by discovering the natural beauty of Brittany from another angle.

angora goats

Just a few minutes from our campsite is Lydie Bourdais’ educational farm. Do you know what she raises there? Angora goats! She’ll be delighted to show you around her mohair production and goat breeding.

In addition to these goats, you can see chickens, geese, rabbits, donkeys, ponies… Visit his store and take home a soft Mohair scarf as a souvenir of your vacation in Saint Malo 🙂
