From the walled city of Saint-Malo…

The Domaine de la Ville Huchet is perfectly located. Indeed, the walled city of St-Malo is less than 15 minutes away from the Domaine, in a quiet district. Roaming through the streets of the old town feels like you’ve stepped back in time. This world-renown harbour used to be a corsair city, from which enormous vessels would departure to explore the globe or fight sea battles. Jacques Cartier, the famous navigator who discovered Canada, was born in St-Malo. He led his expedition across the Atlantic Ocean from this very city. You can still visit his 15th century Manoir de Limoëlou in the district of Rothéneuf. It houses an amazing museum dedicated to the explorer.

In case you would like to see more of Brittany’s history, take the bus or the train to Rennes. Once you get to the heart of the capital of Brittany, check out the Museum of Brittany. This fascinating museum has a remarkable collection of unique pieces. The permanent exhibition is an invitation to discover the history of Brittany and Bretons through time, from prehistoric times to our days.

If you made your way to Rennes, why stop? Fougères, with one of Europe’s finest fortresses, is only 30 minutes away from Rennes. Watch the castle being brought back to life thanks to sound and light shows. Walk around the ramparts and hear the clinging of soldiers in armor climbing the narrow stone stairs.

… to your St-Malo campsite by the sea

Not a big fan of old rocks? Would you rather experience nature? 30 minutes away from your St-Malo campsite, you will find a breath-taking bay.
